Blacksburg, Virginia – °µTV (VCOM) received two awards for its 2018 Annual Report: Focused on a Mission to Serve, in the Annual Report Competition (ARC) Awards program. This is the fifth year that VCOM has received awards from the ARC Awards program that celebrates world-class achievement in annual reports. This year, the VCOM annual report was recognized with a Gold Award for the Non-Profit Organization category for the overall book under the “Health and Education” classification. The second award was an Honors award for the cover Photo/Design category.
The ARC Awards, established by MerComm, Inc. in 1987, were created to honor overall excellence in annual reports, and to encourage noteworthy and vital writing, as well as imaginative and original design and how well the spirit of the company is reflected in the annual report.
“Receiving an ARC Award is one of the highest honors we can achieve for our annual report. The competition is recognized internationally, and provides a benchmark of the highest standard for creation and production of annual reports around the world,” said Cindy Shepard Rawlins, Vice President of Communications, Marketing, Website and Publications at VCOM. “This award provides reinforcement that the Division of Communications is meeting its goals to attract readers and increase awareness by telling the story of the College’s Mission.”
There were 2,198 entries in the competition from 34 countries around the world. The winning entries will be displayed at a celebration for competition winners in Hamburg, Germany on October 11, 2018.
