VCOM Community Makes the Holidays Brighter for Children in Honduras

The spirit of giving was alive and well during the 2024 Christmas fundraiser for the children who are part of the malnutrition program at the VCOM-affiliated Baxter clinic in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Thanks to the generosity and compassion of students, staff and faculty across all four VCOM campuses, the College successfully raised $5,600 to bring holiday joy to 116 children.

Members of VCOM’s Hispanic Community Medical Outreach (HCMO) clubs across all four campuses worked tirelessly to make this fundraiser a success.

In addition, students from VCOM-Louisiana and the VCOM-Auburn student chapter of the American College of Osteopathic Pediatricians (ACOP) helped provide Christmas gifts for 36 girls at the Orphanage Hogar de Niñas San Antonio in Santa Rosa, Honduras. The VCOM students took those gifts to Honduras during their mission trip in December.

The generosity of the VCOM community to support these children reaffirms the incredible impact we can make when we come together for a common cause.
