Trail
Rides
Granite
Mountain Stables captures the Old West right here in
Prescott, on the trails leading to Granite Mountain.
Our trail
guides escort you on a variety of trails used by the
Indians and early settlers of Yavapai
county.
These trails, some of which date back
to Prescott's gold rush days and beyond, provide the routes
for our daily rides into history. We
ride into the hills of the Prescott National Forest where the coyote still
sing under the watchful eyes of Hawks, Owls and soaring Eagles.
Some herds of Antelope are tame
enough to allow close up
viewing, but you still must carefully look for them in the habitat they call
home.
You
will encounter relics of the distant past as your ride takes you by
ancient Indian ruins. Stone foundations and rock walls are all that
remain of an Indian outpost from long ago. The ancient
look-out point captures views of old Indian trails leading in every
direction.
