A free science-based STEM-H Camp at VCOM-Virginia the weeks of June 22 and July 6, 2025.
The SEE Camp is designed to promote science and healthcare professions to high school students who have a minimum GPA of 3.5 from Virginia High schools. There is no charge for housing, food, and activities. Check-in is at 6 pm on the evening of June 22 and July 6, and the camp will end at noon on June 28 and July 12, 2025.
Led by VCOM faculty and medical students in a state-of-the-art cadaver lab and simulation center, participants will take part in:
- Clinical Experiences - Learn and practice suturing and surgical knot-tying with a surgeon
- Hands-On Simulations - Interactive learning that mimics real-life healthcare situations
- Biomedical Experiments - Participate in analyzing various “cultures” under a microscope in addition to learning the basics of epidemiology.
- Small Group Research Project - Presented to VCOM faculty and parents on Friday of each week.

Dress Code
Students will be expected to maintain proper attire. This will be strictly enforced. Many of the program’s activities will take place in the anatomy laboratory. Therefore, open-toed shoes, shorts, hats, low-cut, halter, spaghetti-strap tops, mini-skirts, sleeveless shirts, and profanity on t-shirts are not permitted. Cell phones are not allowed in the anatomy lab or Sim Center.
